Usain Bolt, eat your heart out.
Already one of the most talked about Origin linebreaks of all time, Wati Holmwood’s 90-metre nude dash during State of Origin III sparked a similarly speedy response from online jokers.
Holmwood was charged with wilful and obscene exposure, and entering or remaining on a playing field without authorisation.
Police said he also would be banned from all future events at ANZ Stadium, while it is understood the NRL will impose a life-time ban on him for all rugby league matches.
But that didn’t prevent social media having a field day with 33-year-old Wati Holmwood’s 78th minute field intrusion, with Facebook pages in the streaker’s honour appearing just minutes after the conclusion of the match.
One such page, titled ‘The Streaker, who made origin good’, has gone on to gain more than 30,000 likes, while ‘The origin streaker’ has earned 18,000 likes.
The pages have become a hotspot for the circulation of ‘internet memes’ relating to the streaker, or pictures of the incident accompanied by amusing or witty captions.
One photoshops the streaker into the 100m men’s final in the London Olympics, ahead of Usain Bolt.
Holmwood’s Nike shoes were a point of amusement for internet-goers the country over, with one meme superimposing Nike’s ‘Just do it’ logo him.
Holmwood is due to appear in Burwood Local Court on August 6.

NSW need this security guard.
The only man on the field to stop Queensland from scoring.
Like wearing nothing at all.
Origin of man.
Just do it … nude.
Still made more metres than Mitchell Pearce.
The happy Queenslander.
